"It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it."
General Robert E. Lee
General Lee was right, and for most of us, we have not seen the horrors of war, and for that we are truly blessed.
Yet throughout history, even to this day, there have been brave men and women that have endured the horrors of war so that we might enjoy the blessings of freedom. They have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms and to bring the fresh air of freedom to all parts of the world.
We honor those that have laid down their life in the service of our country. We are free because you have chosen to prize freedom more than your own life.
And we remember the loved ones left behind, who daily bear the wounds of your sacrifice, for they too have sacrificed.
We offer our humble gratitude and remembrance to the brave men and women who have sacrificed to preserve the freedom and promise of this great nation.
